NEH Summer Stipends – Deadline Friday, August 21 - 5:00PM

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Stipends support individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both. Eligible projects typically result in articles, monographs, books, digital materials, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources. Summer Stipends support continuous full-time work on a humanities project for a period of two months.

An outright award of $6,000 is provided for two consecutive months of full-time research and writing. In accordance with NEH guidelines, Ball State may nominate two faculty proposals to submit to NEH.

Ball State internal application deadline is Friday, August 21, 2020 by 5:00PM
Deadline for final submission to the NEH is September 23, 2020 for projects beginning May 1, 2021.

The submission process, all internal applications will be accepted via InfoReady (opens in mid July)

Applicants should complete the form and attach the following:

a. 3-page (single-spaced) narrative - must follow NEH guidelines for format and content
b. 1-page (single-spaced) bibliography

c. 2-page (single-spaced) resumé
d. 1-page appendix (graphical materials or edition/translation sample, if applicable)

Two selected proposals will be submitted electronically by the faculty applicant through grants.gov by the September 23 deadline.
