The Nepali language belongs to the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European family. It is the national language in Nepal, and it is one of the 22 regional languages of India as there is a Nepali community in the Northeast of the country. Sanskrit and Sino-Tibetan languages influenced the Nepali language and in modern times English played a role as well.
