Are you looking for more designated focused writing time for your current projects? Would you like a small group of your peers to help hold you accountable? If so, join one of the Faculty Writing Accountability Groups (WAGs) coordinated by the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and the Ball State Writing Center! These small groups meet virtually or in-person to set individual goals and hold dedicated writing times to focus on your projects.
Faculty writing accountability groups are effective at increasing productivity, providing protected, uninterrupted writing time, and creating a sense of community with enhanced structural knowledge, camaraderie, and morale (Kwan et al).
If you are interested in participating in a Faculty Writing Accountability Group, please take two minutes to complete this Faculty Writing Accountability Groups Survey. Please respond by Friday, October 31st, so that we can start forming groups as soon as possible.
Once you've registered:
- Based on the survey results, we will match you with 5-6 other faculty members (according to your preferences and availability).
- You will receive an email with your writing accountability partners to meet and receive tips and resources about facilitating successful writing partnerships through a quick handout.
- The groups will begin meeting and writing together the week of November 10th.
Hosted by the VPAA. If you have any questions, please contact Anna Gick at anna.gick@bsu.edu or Linh Littleford at lnlittleford@bsu.edu.
