We invite Grad Students, Faculty, and Staff to participate in the Building Bridges Book Club. A collaborative and community-centered adventure hosted by the Office of Inclusive Excellence. The book club offers a brave space to self-reflect, engage in meaningful dialogue, discuss educational praxis, and offers each participant a way to develop skills in building community through story. This semester we will be reading "Braiding Sweetgrass" by Robin Wall Kimmerer. A member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Kimmerer highlights the need to learn from the plants and animals that make up our environment, promoting reciprocity with both the natural world and one another.
This book club will be co-facilitated by Mike Martinez, Associate Director for Training & Development, and Gabrielle Arvizu, OIE Graduate Assistant.
