Join a Faculty Writing Accountability Group (WAGS) now!

September 02, 2026
Are your current writing projects piling up? Are you looking to dedicate more time to writing? Are you in need of a group of peers to help hold?you?accountable?

If so, the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs is pleased to invite you to join one of our Faculty Writing Accountability Groups (WAGS)! We will help connect you with a group that will set a meeting time (either in-person or virtually) that will be dedicated to working on your individual writing projects!

Faculty writing accountability groups are effective at increasing productivity, providing protected, uninterrupted writing time, and creating a sense of community with enhanced structural knowledge, camaraderie, and morale (Kwan et al).

If you are interested in holding focused writing time with a Faculty Writing Accountability Group, please take two minutes to complete this Faculty Writing Accountability Groups survey here. Please respond by Friday, September 11, 2026, so that we can start forming groups as soon as possible.

After you register for a group:
  1. We will match you with 5-6 other faculty members based on your survey results.
  2. You will receive an email (from Austin Guess) with your information about your writing accountability partners and resources about facilitating successful writing partnerships.
  3. You will be invited to attend a short orientation to become acquainted with other WAGs members and learn more about what to expect from these writing groups.
  4. The groups will begin meeting and writing together the week of September 21, 2026.

If you have any questions, please contact Austin Guess (austin.guess@bsu.edu) or Linh Littleford (lnlittleford@bsu.edu).
