Sponsored Projects Administration is excited to announce the modernization of the Cayuse Sponsored Projects (SP) platform! All the functionality of the existing CayuseSP product with an upgraded user interface and connection to Cayuse Human Ethics.

CayuseSP functions as the central hub in which BSU faculty and administrators gain full transparency into the entire sponsored research lifecycle. From pre-award to post-award, CayuseSP lets SPA prepare proposals and awards, track projects, route for internal approvals, and manage each step of the sponsored project lifecycle.

What is changing?

  • One platform (i.e. one login) for both Cayuse products – SP and Human Ethics – unifying the Office of Research and streamlining software systems for faculty
  • Enhanced user experience and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Ability to connect Cayuse Human Ethics protocols with proposal and award records
  • Improved in-app reporting abilities for investigators and administrators

What is not changing?

  • Faculty and staff investigators will continue to work with their SPA Proposal Manager to prepare grant applications
  • Awarded grants will continue to be administered by SPA Grant Managers and financial transactions managed through Banner Finance

The modernized CayuseSP platform will go live July 1, 2026. At that time, the previous instance of CayuseSP will be read-only and archived by SPA Staff.

SPA will be scheduling training opportunities for campus beginning in June. Please be on the lookout for those dates and times from your proposal manager and/or via the Communications Center.
