In collaboration with Roots Burger Bar, its manager, Phil Wills, Eve Horowitz, the director of the charity, and singer Jorge Torres /JT Sifuentes, the Spanish club at Ball State University is working to raise funds for the Honduras Child Alliance, a registered 501(c)(3) that provides educational and healthy living programs in El Porvenir, Honduras. One of their educational centers faces continuous flooding. On sunny days, children must wade through standing water to reach the classroom; during the rainy season, the mud rises to their knees.

The Honduras Child Alliance is seeking to raise $3,000 to fix the problem permanently by installing drains, raising the walkway, and adding fill. Children in El Porvenir already face significant challenges–poor drainage shouldn’t be one of them.

When: April 3, 11 AM - 10 PM
Where: Roots Burger Bar, 1700 W University Ave, Muncie
Featuring: Live music from 5 PM to 8 PM by Jorge JT Torres
