Guest Lecture: "Responsible for What? Individual and Collective Action to Combat the Climate Crisis," Tuesday, 11/16 at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom

November 10, 2021

The Phil/Rels Conversations series welcomes Dr. Rebecca Millsop via Zoom.

What responsibility do we have as individuals and members of society to fight the climate crisis? Do our personal choices make a difference in the face of such a massively complex structural injustice? In this session, we will use the work of philosophers Iris Marion Young and Robin Zheng to explore these questions. As a group, we will go on to discuss how we all can use our positions within society to combat the climate crisis.

Dr. Rebecca Millsop (PhD, MIT) is a Senior Lecturer in the philosophy department at URI. Her current professional and pedagogical activities are focused on utilizing philosophical frameworks to address urgent societal issues like climate change and artificial intelligence.
