Global Game Jam 2022 is returning to Ball State University!
Friday, January 28, 5:00 p.m. - Sunday, January 30, 5:00 p.m. at North Residence Hall.
The Global Game Jam® (GGJ) is the world's largest game creation event taking place around the globe, typically at physical locations. A "game jam" is essentially a hackathon focused on game development. It is the growth of an idea that in today’s heavily connected world, we could come together, be creative, share experiences and express ourselves in a multitude of ways using video games – it is very universal."
Our jam will start at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, with an in-person kick-off event. During this event, the site organizer will go over the ground rules, including a discussion of the schedule, tools, and theme. Food will be provided for all in attendance. After that, we will get into the jam with a little structure to help form teams around common interests.
The event will wrap on Sunday, January 30, at 5:00 p.m. with an in-person celebration! Each team will have the opportunity to share their results and get feedback on their games. Food will be provided.
We welcome all jammers for Video Game Design, Board Game Design, Narrative storytelling, and more! This jam site is open to anyone who lives in East Central Indiana as well as all Ball State affiliates, including students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
We are excited to host this Jam Site as a collaboration between the Ball State Department of Computer Science and the STEM Living-Learning Community within Housing and Residence Life.
If you are in need of accommodations to fully participate in this event or have other questions about this event please reach out to the Jam Site host and Living-Learning Coordinator Garrett Tur at firstname.lastname@example.org.
