Researchers, as you start making plans to submit Human Subjects Research protocols for IRB review, please keep in mind these three important steps when preparing your protocols and submitting them in the Cayuse Human Ethics system:
- Complete the appropriate CITI training based on the type of research you are performing (use your Ball State ID to login!)
- Students must first complete the IRB Cayuse Human Ethics (HE) Access Request Form in order to login to Cayuse (faculty and staff automatically have access)
- If a student submits a protocol, the faculty PI of record must read, advise, and certify the submission before the office can begin their review. Protocols that have not been reviewed for clarity by an advisor will most likely be returned.
If you need more help, the step-by-step guidelines, videos, and templates on our Resources page are a great way to get started. For further guidance, please review this helpful checklist with your students as they begin working on their protocols.
