Ball State University’s Police Department invites students, faculty, staff, and Muncie community members to join the 2025 Citizen Police Academy. This 10-week course, held on Sundays from 5:30-8:30 p.m. starting Jan. 19, 2025, provides an in-depth look at law enforcement, covering topics like criminal and traffic law, police ethics, drug recognition, and firearm safety.

Participants will engage in hands-on experiences, including emergency vehicle operations, a use-of-force simulator, a tour of the Delaware County Jail, and active shooter response training (CRASE), giving participants a well-rounded perspective on policing.

Participation requires a background check, and submission of the application implies consent. Download and fill out your application and send it to Lt.
