Fulbright Specialist Program Introduction

Interested in a Fulbright Fellowship, but may not have the capacity for an Academic Year commitment required of the Fulbright Scholar Program? The Specialist Program may be the fit for you. Sponsored Projects Administration is hosting a webinar presentation with guest speakers Dr. John Donnellan, Associate Professor and Chair of Management at New Jersey City University and Dr. Jean Marie Place, Associate Professor of Public Health, Ball State University. The Presentation will last approximately 45 minutes with QA following.

Dr. Donnellan is a Fulbright Alumni who has worked as a Specialist in Finland on two separate occasions. Dr. Place has recently accepted a Specialist appointment in Cape Town South Africa for summer 2024.  They will discuss their individual experiences with how/why they chose to participate in the Specialist Program and any tips they have for a successful application.

Through the Fulbright Specialist Program, U.S. academics and professionals can apply their knowledge and expertise to a diverse array of activities including, but not limited to:

  • Delivering seminars, trainings or workshops
  • Consulting on faculty or workforce development
  • Developing academic or training curricula and materials
  • Lecturing at the graduate or undergraduate level
  • Engaging in strategic or institutional planning
  • Conducting needs assessments or evaluations for a program or institution
