Friday Night Cardboard returns to Bracken Library this week!

January 17, 2022

Do your New Year's resolutions include playing more board games? Friday Night Cardboard returns to Bracken Library this Friday, January 21, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Join Ball State University Libraries in Bracken Library's Schwartz Digital Complex Pod Room for this popular series of board and tabletop gaming nights.

This month's featured game is Splendor, a Renaissance-themed game of card drafting and engine building. Players vie to acquire jewels and prestige points; accumulate enough riches and you may earn a visit Henry VIII, Catherine de Medici, Suleiman the Magnificent, or another noble of the period. Our librarian will help new players learn the game.

Friday Night Cardboard is hosted at Bracken Library on the third Friday of every month when Fall and Spring classes are in session. Board, card, and word games from Education, Music and Media's collections will be available to play, including modern board games like Catan, Dominion, and Ticket to Ride, and familiar classics like Uno, Scrabble, and Monopoly. Participants are welcome to bring a game of their own to share.

Masks are required but registration is not. Just show up, and bring your friends!
