February 22, 2021
Counseling Center
Courses, Seminars & Workshops
Miscellaneous
The Counseling Center will be offering several more opportunities this semester for free outreach workshops that are available to all Ball State students who are currently residing in Indiana. These programs are not therapy, but do provide psycho-education and skill building resources that can assist in building resiliency and improving your ability to cope with stressful situations. Workshops will be available throughout the fall semester and will meet for 1 hour each week. In order to participate in these groups, you
MUST SIGN UP
so that you will receive the WebEx/Zoom invitation to attend the programs. You may sign-up for one, or more, of our programs using the following link:

.
In addition to these workshops, the Counseling Center is now offering
FOUR online support groups
. The first is entitled
“Voices: Race & Ethnicity Support Group”
. This group offers a safe space for students of color on campus to come together, share their experiences, and find ways to cope while offering support to others. This group will meet from 3:00-4:00PM every other Thursday and will be led by persons of color. The second is a support group called
Self-Esteem
and will provide both support and psychoeducation regarding how to better understand, and improve, your self-esteem and self-worth. This group will be offered weekly and will be held on Thursdays at 2:00PM throughout the semester. The third group is a
Covid support group
. This group offers students a space to come together to discuss experiences related to the pandemic and share ways to cope and will be held weekly on Mondays at 2:00PM throughout the semester. Lastly, we will continue to offer our
Stress Less Group
, which will also meet weekly and will provide support and tips for healthy coping strategies to manage stress. If you are interested in attending either of these groups, please

If virtually attending a group doesn’t fit your schedule, or if you are looking for more opportunities to practice self-care, the Counseling Center will also continue to offer our
4-week Self-Care Challenge email program
throughout the remainder of the fall semester. As we are nearing the end of the semester, this 4-week challenge could be a great way for you to intentionally participate in much needed self-care. This challenge provides students with several different options for activities to complete each week in order to practice positive self-care, manage daily stressors, and build healthy coping skills. Each student will receive a PDF version of a resiliency skills training workbook that provides detailed information about each of the activity options for each week of the challenge. The challenge will last for 4 weeks; however, we hope that students will continue to utilize the workbook and the activities therein beyond the scope of our program. This program is open to
ALL
Ball State students, but you
MUST SIGN UP
.
