Ball State University is hosting an event celebrating the legacy of Frederick Douglass—social reformer, abolitionist, orator, and author—with a special performance, “The Frederick Douglass Jazz Works” by the Ruth Naomi Floyd Jazz Ensemble at 7 p.m. on Feb. 22 in the University’s John J. Pruis Hall.
The event welcomes the public to experience the transformative power of music while learning about the life and contributions of Frederick Douglass.
The Institute for the Study of Political Economy within Ball State’s Miller College of Business is presenting this event as part of Ball State’s annual Madam C J Walker Colloquium in Political Economy, which explores the relevance of entrepreneurship and free enterprise for the past, present, and future of historically marginalized groups.
This event is free and open to the public.
