Fly Well: Fireworks Safety for Summer Celebrations

June 25, 2026

Summer celebrations often include fireworks. A little preparation can help you enjoy them safely with family and friends.

  • Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby when using fireworks
  • Light fireworks one at a time and move away quickly after lighting
  • Never attempt to relight a malfunctioning firework
  • Keep children and spectators at a safe distance
  • Being mindful of the wind and your surroundings when lighting fireworks
  • Dispose of used fireworks by soaking them in water before placing them in the trash
