News from the David Owsley Museum of Art

February 01, 2023

This spring, the David Owsley Museum of Art is proud to present A Wild Story: The David and Sarojini Johnson Print Collection. Opening February 23 and remaining on view through May 21, 2023, this exhibition is the first public presentation of an outstanding Midwestern collection amassed over four decades by printmakers and educators David and Sarojini Johnson. The display features relief and intaglio prints created by more than 25 artist printmakers represented in the Johnsons’ collection. Visit DOMA's exhibition website to learn more about the show, or to register for an exhibition tour for staff and faculty. Looking ahead, mark your calendar for a related printmaker's panel and reception on the evening of March 23.

Our next Docent's Choice Tour is Saturday, February 4, when DOMA education assistant Eilish Kelly will feature selected landscape works in the DOMA galleries. This tour is free and open to the public; meet in DOMA's Sculpture Court at 2:30 p.m.

NEW EVENT: DOMA After Hours! Join us from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on February 10 for an evening "Anti-Valentine's Day" celebration with food, a cash bar, art-making activities, games, and a live storytelling competition. This event is free of charge and open to everyone, so bring your friends - and your bad date stories!

DOMA is currently accepting applications (through March 1) for Summer 2023 internships. Ball State students interested in an internship at DOMA must first visit the Cardinal Career Link and obtain a Student Employment Referral for posting #10627. The Career Center will then provide additional application instructions for submitting materials (including a cover letter, resume, and transcript). Visit this page to learn more about internships at DOMA, or contact Maureen Nicholson with questions.
