Current AAL student employee will continue at their existing AAL hourly pay rate. New AAL student employees will start at $8 per hour, with a structured promotion process that provides opportunities to advance up to $12 per hour. All positions require proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Applicants must be able to follow directions, demonstrate punctuality and reliability, and work responsibly and professionally as part of a team.

Geophysical and Spatial Analysis Assistant (1 Position) – Supervisor Kevin Nolan

    • Tasks include organizing paperwork and data files, learning to assemble and correct 3D ground penetrating radar (GPR) files in RADAN, applying standard processing steps to 3D files in RADAN, exporting amplitude slices, georeferencing slices, potentially helping with 2D (profile) analysis, and maintaining detailed tracking records.
    • Needs computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) preferred;
    • Attention to detail is necessary;
    • All details of projects and project contexts are confidential, and the records are sensitive;
    • Preference for 15 to 20 hours of availability per week;

Artifact Processing/Collections Assistant (1 Position) - Supervisor Hannah Ryker

    • Candidates should be organized and detail oriented
    • Cleaning and organizing artifacts
    • Artifact identification and analysis
    • Cataloging and labeling artifacts
    • Artifact photography
    • Able to follow directions, communicate with members of a team, and be punctual
    • Includes data gathering in Excel for Indiana’s State Historic Architectural and Archaeological Research Database (SHAARD)
    • Additional duties as assigned
