The Rinker Center for Global Affairs seeks a Faculty Fellow for Study Abroad Initiatives, to begin in Fall 2025 (Spring 2026 start also possible). The Faculty Fellow will play an integral role in advancing Ball State University’s globalization goals in collaboration with the Rinker Center for Global Affairs personnel, faculty, and students.
This fellowship will have two primary areas of focus:
1) Teaching and Learning in Faculty-Led Study Abroad – The Faculty Fellow will provide expertise and support related to pedagogy in faculty-led study abroad. A central deliverable will include the development of a mini-course designed to strengthen faculty proficiency in high-impact practices (HIPs) specific to study abroad and study away programming.
2) Academic Alignment of Study Abroad Programming – The Faculty Fellow will collaborate with the Director of Study Abroad and academic unit leaders across campus to strengthen curricular alignment between BSU degree programs and study abroad opportunities. A major outcome will be the creation of advising guides for departments, highlighting recommended study abroad programs that align with academic requirements.

The selected Faculty Fellow will receive:
- One course release or supplemental compensation (overload)
- The option to continue the fellowship during summer
- A one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal for up to a total of three years

Interested candidates must secure approval from both their department chair and academic dean prior to appointment.
