Faculty Domestic Travel Opportunity Now Open

January 08, 2024

The Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs has developed a one-year pilot program to award tenure-line faculty members travel funds for the purpose of presenting their research and scholarship at professional regional or national meetings or to perform/exhibit creative works.

This funding, administered by the SPA Aspire grant program, is for Domestic Travel only and is designed to supplement travel funds provided by the faculty member's college and department. A maximum award of $500 is available per faculty member. The deadline for applications to be submitted through InfoReady is the 15th of every month. Funding is limited; applications will no longer be accepted once all funds have been awarded.

Program Stipulations

  • Tenured and Tenure Line Faculty and professional personnel with faculty status through the level of department chair/Director are eligible to apply
  • Faculty member must be eligible to receive travel funding through their department/college
  • Applications should be submitted no more than 2 months in advance of the invited presentation
  • These funds are only to support travel costs (not research, creative, or development costs) associated with the presentation of research and scholarship at professional regional or national meetings or to perform or exhibit creative works
  • Awards must be expended only on allowable travel expenses as outlined in the BSU Travel Regulations and Procedures Manual and the university general Travel Policy
