Discover the creativity of Ball State’s first-year art and design students at
Beginnings 2026: The First-Year Foundations Student Show. The annual exhibition features work created in First-Year Foundations courses by students in studio art, animation, graphic design, and art education.
Through drawing, 2D, 3D, and 4D work, the exhibition highlights the experimentation, creative thinking, and artistic development that begin during students’ first year in the School of Art.
Join us during
Ball State Family Weekend for a reception and awards ceremony from 4–6 p.m. Friday, September 11. Awards will be presented in 2D, 3D, 4D, and Drawing, along with a Best in Show Award generously sponsored by Art Mart in the Village.
Beginnings 2026 is on view September 4–October 9.
