Established in 2022, due to the generosity of fellow cardinals, the Ball State Employee Emergency Fund has been able to assist employees in a time of need. The goal of the Ball State Employee Emergency Fund is to provide financial support for Ball State employees in need of temporary emergency assistance due to accidents, fires, or other personal emergencies.

We have had several employees experience house fires and needed temporary assistance until their insurance was received. Responding to the employee need, Alan Finn (VP of Business Affairs and Treasurer) established the Ball State Employee Emergency fund to support employees in time of crisis!

Eligibility:

  • Be a current Ball State Employee
  • Have a temporary financial hardship because of an emergency situation. A temporary financial hardship is one caused by a specific event such as but not limited to:
    • Fire
    • Natural disaster
    • Other factors resulting in the loss of housing

How to apply:

  • To apply, submit your request using the online application.
  • If you do not have access to the application, you may call the Employee Solution Center at (765) 285-1834 for assistance.

**Given the limited amount of funds, all requests can’t be approved even though there may be a clear need for assistance. This fund may be insufficient in the case of widespread disasters or community crises.

What to Expect:

Once you complete the application, the Employee Emergency Fund Committee will review the information and you will be notified of the decision.

Contribute to the Employee Emergency Fund:

Through our collective efforts, all donations, whether large or small, may provide financial assistance to a colleague in need! This fund is for all employees, and it needs the support of all employees. You can contribute to the fund here.

You can also donate to the fund on One Ball State Day 2024. Alan is also making the challenge that he will do a $1 for $1 match up to $1000!  Therefore, you donate $50 and Alan will donate $50!  Join in on the fun and let’s maximize Alan’s donation up to $1000!
