Supporting Employees with the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

January 10, 2024

Life can be difficult at times— both at home and at work. Ball State wants to help you feel supported and cope with these challenges by providing free counseling sessions, self-help tools, online articles and other resources for you and your family members through our TELUS Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

These confidential services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at no cost to you or your family!

    • Eligibility: All Ball State employees and your family members are eligible to receive up to five free consultations with a master level clinical professional either on the phone or in person.

    • Confidentiality: Your EAP session is not part of your human resources file, participation is always voluntary, and use of EAP will not jeopardize your job.

    • Expectations: Whether you call in or chat in the TELUS system, you will speak with a trained EAP consultant who will assess your situation. The intake screening will generally take about 10 minutes and will help the consultant determine what services provided by your company would be useful in addressing your situation.

    • Getting Started: Services can be obtained 24/7 by calling 1-888-456-1324 or by logging into TELUS. When logging in, you will be prompted to enter your Ball State credentials, and will then be directed to your News Feed. There is a section at the top left of your feed labeled 'Feel Supported' that includes:

      • CareNow Self Directed Resources,
      • CareNow Counselor Assisted Resources
      • Chat Support
