The Center for Peace and Conflict Studies will be hosting the film Arab Indianapolis: A Hidden History on Thursday, February 23rd from 3:00-4:30pm in AJ 175 (Arts and Journalism Lecture Hall in the Atrium).
The film centers around the immense impact individuals of Arab descent have had on Indianapolis. The film explores the first Arabic-speaking community, the founding of St. George Church, the influence of Arab American food on cuisine, and more.
A discussion led by Professor Lawrence Gerstein (Director, Center for Peace and Conflict Studies) and Professor Abdelaadi Bidaoui (Department of Modern Languages & Classics) will follow the film. Refreshments will be served.
