Another ViewPoint: The application of legislative simulator into Criminal Justice Classrooms

In this project, funded by the Creative Teaching Grant, Amy Beckett and Jennifer Christman utilized the University of Michigan’s ViewPoint platform to simulate problem-solving within the judicial and executive branch – a first of its kind extension from the program’s isolated use in policy debate. Post-implementation, Beckett and Christman assessed the use of simulations within the classroom as a high impact practice using student surveys, analyzing student reflections, and assessing learning outcomes. The March 17th presentation will include an overview of the platform, individual course activities, student artifacts, preliminary research results, and Q & A with both faculty and student participants.
