Bracken Library, 2nd Floor, Northeast Wing

Ball State’s University Libraries has established a nonsectarian Contemplation Space, in Bracken Library, that is designed for quiet personal contemplation, reflection, meditation, prayer, and relaxation. The space—the first of this kind on Ball State’s campus—is available to visitors of Bracken Library during its hours of operation. Furnished with cushions, mats, and a privacy screen, the space is meant to offer a place to step away from hectic schedules and time demands, to rest the mind, and renew focus. A formal opening of the Contemplation Space is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sept. 29 in Bracken Library (2 East). Dean of University Libraries Matthew Shaw, and Associate Vice President for Inclusive Excellence Marsha McGriff, will offer brief remarks at the opening. Provision of the space is part of the University Libraries’ commitment to enriching a campus culture of inclusion, diversity, and equity.
