In the coming weeks, Information Technology will roll out a new email quarantine system to protect you from phishing and suspicious emails.
Every day, you will receive a digest email that includes a list and summaries of any quarantined messages. You will have the following options when reviewing quarantined emails:
- If the email is mistakenly quarantined, you can choose to release it and add the contact to your allowed senders.
- If the email is suspicious or a phishing scam, you can choose to delete the message and block the sender.
If you do not see your daily digest email in your inbox or your junk folder, log into the quarantine using your Ball State SSO credentials to find it.
Remember: If you receive a suspicious email outside of the daily digest, report it by clicking the Phish Alarm button or by utilizing the built-in reporting functions in the header of the email.
If you accidentally report a message and are unable to receive messages from the sender, have mistakenly allowed a spammer and are getting malicious emails, or need assistance with other issues, please visit the Technology Helpdesk at https://www.bsu.edu/helpdesk to submit a request or call them at 765-285-1517 to speak with a representative.
Stay vigilant and keep your inbox secure!
