VPAA Session:Classroom Civility and Shared Accountability Workshop for Faculty

The Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs invites faculty members to participate in the Classroom Civility and Shared Accountability Workshop (Presenters: Dr. Linh Littleford & Dr. Stephanie Simon-Dack).

This interactive, 90-minute, in-person workshop will include a review of the faculty-developed toolkit designed to foster inclusiveness, civility, and shared accountability in learning environments through relationship-rich practices. In addition, faculty, will have the opportunity to:

  • Practice working through classroom scenarios in which students express concern or distress related to course content.
  • Explore practical strategies for addressing and de-escalating potentially contentious situations.

Participating in this workshop is one of the ways faculty can demonstrate that they helped Ball State University foster a culture of free inquiry, free expression, and intellectual diversity within the university (required in annual, tenure, promotion, and post tenure reviews).
