The Center for Economic and Civic Learning invites students, faculty, educators, and community members to a featured talk with Minnijean Brown-Trickey, a member of the Little Rock Nine.
As a teenager, Brown-Trickey helped integrate Little Rock Central High School in 1957, one of the defining moments in the history of American education and democracy. She has since spent decades as an educator, community leader, and advocate for youth engagement, human rights, civic responsibility, and democratic life.
Her talk will explore a central question: What does the work of democracy require of students, educators, and citizens today?
This event will take place on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged, and seating is first-come, first-served.
