The Division of Business Affairs welcomes Chifundo Biliwita as Ball State’s new Director of Internal Audit and Advisory Services.
Chifundo currently is the Director of Internal Auditing at Eastern Illinois University. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor, a Certified Internal Controls Auditor, a Certified Internal Auditor, and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
At Eastern Illinois, Chifundo implemented the utilization of consulting projects to educate partners on the proactive use of the audit function to meet the overall goals of the institution; expanded audit coverage to non-traditional-but-strategic areas of the university such as student success, enrollment, retention, talent management, and processes transformation; and worked to develop the university-wide enterprise risk management function.
Chifundo previously was the global internal audit lead—the highest-ranked internal auditor—with the One Acre Fund, a highly respected and highly ranked global non-profit organization. He led a multicultural team of 14 auditors that offered global and cross-country internal audits and consulting projects in 10 countries.
Chifundo, who has an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, will tentatively begin his new role at Ball State on April 3. He is passionate about continuous learning and improvement, diversity, and collaboration, and is eager to learn more about Ball State and its unique opportunities and challenges. Please join us in welcoming him to our division.
