Changes to the On-Campus Student Employment Job Search Process

August 18, 2020

If you plan to apply for an on-campus job this school year, please review the following instructions for acquiring job referrals and submitting new-hire paperwork packets.

Electronic Referral Request

All referrals will be issued electronically until further notice. If you find a job for which you would like to apply in Cardinal Career Link, make note of the requisition number and submit up to six jobs in the Qualtrics form when prompted. Upon submission, a Student Employment Representative will review each request within 48 hours to see if you meet the minimum requirements to apply for the job. If you meet the criteria listed in the job posting, you will receive an email from the Career Center with the referral and instructions on how to apply for the job.

Submit New-Hire Paperwork Packets by Appointment Only

If you are hired to work on campus, you will be required to submit a new-hire paperwork packet before your first shift. If you don’t already have paperwork on file with the Career Center, you will receive a detailed email with instructions for how to complete the required paperwork. In order to submit the required paperwork, you must schedule an appointment in Cardinal Career Link to meet with a Student Employment Representative.

To schedule an appointment:

  1. Select Coaching Appt in the navigation menu.
  2. Select the Request New Appointment button.
  3. In the Career Coaches pane, select Student Employment Paperwork.
  4. Select the Check Availability button.
  5. Select a date and time for your appointment, then complete the form and select the Submit Request button.

To ensure social distancing and safe practices within our office, we ask that you not arrive earlier than five minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will help limit any congregation from occurring in the Career Center lobby. If you show up late to your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule in order to honor the appointment time of other students.

The Career Center will continue to monitor the University’s policies and plans as the pandemic presents a constantly-evolving situation. We will continue to post and update on our social media platforms and in Cardinal Career Link.

We look forward to helping you!
