The Center for Innovation and Collaboration will reach a major milestone this summer as university teams begin moving into the facility in mid-July. This transition marks the culmination of years of planning and progress since construction began in 2024 and comes just over a year after the community beam-signing celebration in May 2025.
Several university programs and partners will soon call the Center home. The Digital Corps will relocate its operations to the second floor, while the IDIA Lab will occupy space on the first-floor in the AR/VR Lab. The Center team will be based on the third floor alongside university collaborators, including Emerging Media Design and Development (EMDD), the Center for Entrepreneurship and the Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute, and the Career Center.
The Center will also welcome two community partners: the Muncie-Delaware County Black Chamber of Commerce and the East Central Indiana Small Business Development Center. Their presence will further strengthen connections between the university and the region while creating new opportunities for collaboration and engagement.
The goal is for the facility to be fully operational by mid-August and ready to welcome incoming freshman during Weeks of Welcome. Designed as a hub for innovation, collaboration, entrepreneurship, and experiential learning, the Center for Innovation and Collaboration will bring students, faculty, staff, and community partners together to create new opportunities and drive regional impact.
Additional updates will be shared as the Center continues its progress toward the official ribbon-cutting celebration in September 2026.
