The Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) represents the institution and its faculty in the relationship between the NCAA and the institution. The FAR also provides significant leadership in the governance of the institution's intercollegiate athletics program in academic and student-athlete matters. The FAR is to serve as an advocate for student-athletes, working to ensure student-athletes' well-being and promotion of the development of student-athletes as a whole person.
Information regarding the intercollegiate athletics program shall be made available to the FAR, as guided by legal counsel and as needed and requested. The FAR shall be actively involved in the Athletics Committee, and, if appropriate, serve as the chair, and regularly inform the members of the AC on issues concerning the intercollegiate athletics program.
