Be part of our first cohort in Applied Artificial Intelligence! This new course focuses on the application of AI in business and provides an opportunity to explore one of the fastest-growing areas affecting organizations and careers today.
This course provides students with a foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its applications in modern organizations. Students will explore core AI concepts including machine learning, natural language processing, intelligent agents, and generative AI and examine how these technologies transform business functions such as marketing, operations, finance, supply chain, and customer service. Emphasis is placed on understanding both the strategic value of AI and the technical principles that enable intelligent decision-making.
Prerequisite: BAIS 205, BAIS 305, DANA 100, or NUR 314.

Introduction to data-driven business management analytics. Provides the business rationale for leveraging analytics to improve organizational performance and the challenges businesses face on analytics. Introduces the basis of data science and business analytics for handling massive databases. Covers concepts such as ethical use of data, data mining, data management, the use of key performance indicators, dashboards and scorecards for performance management, text and web mining, and big data analytics.
Prerequisite or parallel: BAIS 205, ECON 221, MATH 181, MATH 221, MATH 320, MATH 321, PSYS 241, SOC 382, an equivalent course, or permission of the department chairperson.

Combines technical networking concepts with managerial information security principles for a holistic understanding of digital infrastructure. Emphasizes governance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks and covers cloud computing, IoT, and cyber resilience to prepare for evolving digital environments.
