The Ball State University Sport & Exercise Psychology program is inviting you to participate in a research study regarding a piece of equipment at BSU called Biosound technology, which promotes rest, recovery, and concentration—these are variables we will be investigating in the Biosound Pilot Study IRB # 1873380-1. Biosound technology incorporates heart rate variability biofeedback, music therapy, vibroacoustic massage, guided meditation, and guided imagery into a single piece of equipment.  

We are looking for individuals who are between 18-35 years old who are participating in recreational or competitive sport. If you are 18-35 years old and are a recreational or competitive athlete, join our study!

Study Purpose: 

• Investigate the impact of a 6-week Biosound technology intervention on stress, recovery, and concentration in an athlete population

Biosound Involves:

• Vibroacoustic massage

• Heart rate variability biofeedback

• Music therapy

• Guided meditation

• Guided imagery

Time Commitments

• Control Group: Initial 15-min Zoom call • Mindfulness group: 30 min/week

• Coherence Group: 20-30 min/week

• Biosound Group: 75 min/week
