Become an Ally/Advocate for the LGBTQIA+ Community

Safe Zone, presented by the Counseling Center, is back for the 2022-2023 Academic Year! This year we have our virtual trainings as well as in-person trainings at the Multicultural Center. Become an ally/advocate for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning population at Ball State University and beyond by attending the Safe Zone and Trans* Safe Zone Trainings. Trainings are 4 hours long. Trainings are open to Ball State students, faculty, staff, and if the space allows, to interested members of the wider community. We are pleased to announce the following training dates:

2022-23 Fall Semester: 

Safe Zone Trainings: 
-Monday, August 29th, 8:00am-12:00pm, Multicultural Center
-Saturday, September 24th, 8:00am-12:00pm, Virtual
-Friday, October 21st, 12:00pm-4:00pm, Multicultural center
-Thursday, November 17th, 5:30pm-9:30pm, Virtual

Trans* Safe Zone Trainings: 
-Wednesday, September 7th, 3:00pm-7:00pm, Multicultural Center
- Monday, October 3rd, 8:00am-12:00pm, Multicultural Center
- Thursday, November 3rd, 5:30pm-9:30pm, Virtual
- Saturday, December 3rd, 8:00am-12:00pm, Virtual

Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a Safe Zone or Trans Safe Zone sticker, as well as other materials and invitations to workshops and conferences.
