Due to inclement weather, today’s Spring 2025 main Commencement ceremony at Ball State University will be at Worthen Arena at 10 a.m. Gates open at 9 a.m. College ceremony locations/times are not affected and remain the same.
All graduates, families, and guests can access the updated main Commencement schedule, instructions, and frequently asked questions on the Ball State Commencement Inclement Weather Information webpage. You can also find a link to updated instructions at bsu.edu and via the Ball State Facebook and X accounts.
Updated times, locations, and details of the Spring Commencement ceremonies are as follows:
» 10 a.m.—Main Ceremony at Worthen Arena: Ball State President Geoffrey S. Mearns and Commencement speaker Kayla Davion, ’17, will address the attendees, the doctoral and specialist candidates will be hooded, senior awards and special recognition will take place, and there will be a special performance by students from the Department of Theatre and Dance.
» 12:30 p.m.—College Ceremony at Emens Auditorium: R. Wayne Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning
» 12:30 p.m.—College Ceremony at Worthen Arena: Miller College of Business and College of Communication, Information, and Media
» 4 p.m.—College Ceremony at Emens Auditorium: College of Fine Arts
» 4 p.m.—College Ceremony at Worthen Arena: College of Sciences and Humanities
» 7:30 p.m.—College Ceremony at Worthen Arena: College of Health and Teachers College
Additional details:
» Parking: Parking is free in any of the campus lots and garages. Free shuttles will be running all day to help get attendees to their respective ceremony locations. For the main ceremony that starts at 10 a.m. at Worthen Arena, guests are encouraged to park on the north side of campus.
» Traffic Note: McKinley Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic between Riverside and University Avenues from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on May 3. Shuttle buses will be picking up and dropping off guests in this area.
» Commencement Speaker: Kayla Davion, a 2017 Ball State University graduate best known for her work on the Broadway stage, will address Ball State’s Class of 2025 at the University’s Spring Commencement ceremony at Worthen Arena. Read more about Ms. Davion’s career and upcoming speech.
