Ball State University Unveils “Tradition” Apparel Line

November 16, 2020

Every era of Ball State University history includes certain visuals, photos and marks that constitute that era’s full picture of campus life.

To both capture and bring back to life some of Ball State’s most notable eras, the Tradition line of apparel will begin hitting store shelves on Monday, November 16, 2020.

In conjunction with the Collegiate Licensing Company and valued licensed vendors, Ball State’s new line of clothing includes a vintage Charlie Cardinal logo from athletics uniforms in 1989, a previously used sketched drawing of the University’s institutional icon, Beneficence, and a distinctive font featured on athletic team uniforms in the 1970s and 1980s.

Not only does the font included in the third featured item come from that era, it is the same font used on the uniforms of the 1981 Mid-American Conference champion Ball State University basketball team.

With the unveiling of this initial line, Ball State looks forward to sharing more retro imagery with Traditions, including unique to our Muncie, Indiana campus icons.

Licensed vendors participating at the ground level of the Tradition line include Homefield Apparel and The Shop Indy. Please find links for purchase below. For a full list of University brand resources, visit https://www.bsu.edu/about/administrativeoffices/marketing-communications/brand-resources.
