This summer, Dr. Ndemanu will spend two months in Ghana collaborating with the University of Cape Coast to establish a groundbreaking Center for Transformative Education.
The University of Cape Coast (UCC) is recognized as the top university in West Africa and ranks fourth across the continent, distinguishing itself among hundreds of institutions. This collaboration marks a significant step in fostering educational innovation and excellence.
Dr. Ndemanu, a U.S. Fulbright Scholar in both 2021 and 2022, will spend two months at UCC, working closely with local faculty and students to develop the Center, which aims to advance educational practices and create new opportunities for community engagement and learning.
"The fellowship is not only a recognition of my past contributions to multicultural education but also a thrilling new opportunity to impact education globally," said Dr. Ndemanu.
This initiative is supported by the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP), which selected Dr. Ndemanu’s project for funding after a highly competitive review process. The CADFP fosters ties between African academics and universities in Africa and the United States and Canada to advance educational and research excellence.
Dr. Ndemanu is scheduled to participate in a CADFP Virtual Pre-Departure Orientation on May 9, 2024, which will further prepare him for his upcoming collaborative efforts in Ghana.
Dr. Ndemanu is an Associate Professor at the Department of Educational Studies in the Teachers College at Ball State University. His work focuses on multicultural education and social foundations in education, emphasizing the dynamics of cross-cultural teaching and learning.
