May 20, 2021

The College of Communication, Information and Media is excited to announce Brea Cunningham ’09, will join us as Program Manager for Community and Digital Engagement, effective May 24, 2021. She will be working closely with all units across CCIM developing and executing CCIM's community and digital engagement strategy.

“The experiences I had as a student in the telecommunications department are unmatched,” Cunningham said. “When given the opportunity to play a role in so many of the high-quality events that sparked my passion in digital media, it was an easy decision to return to Indiana. I’m looking forward to working with students and developing immersive collaborative experiences to support the truly redefined education at Ball State.”

Brea Cunningham served as Visual Media Producer at Knox College, in Galesburg, IL for the past 5 years. While there, she grew Knox’s social media presence significantly, integrating video and mixed media into the website and external communications. Cunningham worked with campus partners on strategic initiatives to promote admission, advancement, and community engagement for Knox College, leading the training and development of the student worker production team within her department. Additionally, Cunningham values the importance of community service; volunteering on multiple boards within her community while coaching competitive youth soccer.

Her previous work as a freelancer includes roles within the film and television industry, live event production, and photography.

“We’re excited to have someone on the team that not only knows our history but is eager to adapt and grow as our College reaches towards the future. With the increase of virtual events, the possibilities are endless,” Dean Paaige Turner said. "She brings a strong commitment to student development and engagement."
