The College of Fine Arts invites you to unlock your creative potential with the INNOVATE Award, offering up to $1,500 in funding for interdisciplinary student projects in the Spring 2024 semester—apply by December 18, 2023!
ELIGIBILITY: Individuals or teams are eligible to apply for an INNOVATE award. At least one member of a project team must be enrolled for the entirety of the funding period at Ball State University as a part-time or full-time undergraduate student within the College of Fine Arts.
INNOVATE PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The INNOVATE Award program aims to provide support for student projects that integrate collaboration, innovation, and creativity. Projects must be interdisciplinary and creative in nature, spanning research, presentations, artwork, musical compositions, performances, productions, and more. Submissions are welcome from both individuals and teams.
AWARD FUNDING: We are pleased to announce a funding pool of $1,500 for the Spring 2024 semester, allowing applications for varied amounts up to $500. Funding can be utilized for travel, supplies, equipment, and other project-related expenses, with the requirement that all funds be used within the one-semester project period from January 1 to May 15, 2024.

APPLICATION PROCESS OVERVIEW: To apply for an INNOVATE award, submit a complete proposal including the following elements:
2-page project narrative (500 words max)
1-page student bio for each individual involved (200 words max)
Budget and timeline
Faculty recommendation letter
All proposals will be reviewed and awarded by the CFA Dean’s Student Advisory Council. Notification of award decisions will be sent via email by January 2, 2024, for Spring projects.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PROPOSALS: Proposals are due no later than 11:59 pm on December 18, 2023, and must be submitted via CFAadmin@bsu.edu. Applications missing information or not adhering to the guidelines will be returned without review.
