Dr. Shannon Dieringer, interim associate dean of faculty affairs and strategic initiatives and professor of special education at Ball State's Teachers College, has been named the University's new Faculty Athletic Representative. The Faculty Athletic Representative represents the institution and its faculty in the relationship between the NCAA and Ball State and provides significant leadership in the governance of the institution’s intercollegiate athletics program.

Dr. Dieringer has served Ball State for 11 years, first as the program director of the physical education teacher education program in the School of Kinesiology, where she was instrumental in creating a dual major in Health and Physical Education. Then, in 2014 she joined Teachers College as a faculty member in Applied Behavior Analysis. Additionally, Dr. Dieringer was a collegiate student-athlete in cross country and track at The Ohio State University.

We look forward to Dr. Dieringer’s service in this important role to the University.
