An Update from Sponsored Projects about Research Funding

Ball State Researchers,

With the changes in funding availability for research, projects, and programs, you may feel uneasy about submitting grant proposals until there is more clarity for future budget allocations. While SPA shares these concerns, we regularly monitor executive orders, federal agency budgets and notices, and consult with our peers and national associations to continue to support you and your research initiatives. We are mobilizing resources and programs to best support faculty in navigating the external funding landscape. We are here to support you.

Thus, our guidance to you remains the same – be steadfast in your pursuit of funding, reach out to Program Officers, be open to feedback, and diligently address all review criteria. Work closely with your SPA Proposal Manager and be adaptable and determined to continue submitting proposals. If your target program is still accepting applications, then continue to pursue it; if it isn’t, please work with your SPA Proposal Manager to identify alternative funding opportunities—this is just one of the many services we provide.

Therefore, as you continue to pursue funding, we encourage you to use all of the resources available to you through SPA. Some of those include:

SPA is here to support you and your scholarly agendas. Please connect with your Proposal Manager or me directly (jsdavis@bsu.edu) with any questions or concerns as we navigate this uncertainty together.
