Aspire Alpha Support aims to support new tenure-line faculty members jump start their research and creative arts agendas by assisting new faculty members to purchase supplies and, research-related items, and travel to conferences or workshops with a one-time $5,000 supplies, expenses, equipment, and travel (SEET) grant.
Tenure-line faculty in their first year of employment with Ball State who have not received significant research-related or creative endeavor start-up funds (see guidelines for this eligibility) from their department or college are eligible to apply to Alpha Support.
To apply for this grant, please follow the guidelines on the program page. Specifically, eligible faculty members must submit the following through the InfoReady portal:
- Two-page summary describing the project goals and significance, what the alpha award funds will be used for, and how this contributes to the faculty member's research program or creative agenda.
- Budget narrative describing budget cost calculations and how the items purchased will facilitate goals stated in request.
- Literature references (if applicable, 1 page maximum; use the format that is standard for publishing in your field.)
- Three-page C.V.
Applications must be submitted through the InfoReady portal, which uses Ball State single sign-on access. The competition deadline is September 20, 2023.
