Accepting Applications for a Faculty Fellow for Student Philanthropy (due Aug 1)

The Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs is happy to announce that we are accepting applications for a 2026-27 Student Philanthropy faculty fellow. This faculty fellow will coordinate and champion Ball State’s Student Philanthropy program

The faculty fellowship will focus on faculty development and program administration. Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Recruit, train, and mentor faculty to teach in the program; schedule sections each term; troubleshoot issues; visit classes; maintain the faculty handbook, website, and other materials; create new resources and programming for faculty; coordinate program assessment.
  • Write semesterly reports based on assessment data, student surveys, and student and faculty participation; communicate updates to BSU Foundations, the Provost’s office, the President’s office, and others as requested.
  • Lead One Ball State Day efforts; meet with existing and potential donors; promote the program to internal and external audiences.
  • Document and coordinate payment for philanthropic gifts for each course; track program budget. Archive program activity.
  • Plan and facilitate the annual Student Philanthropy Showcase. 

The successful candidate will have these qualifications: 

  • Full-time Ball State faculty member with a minimum of a master’s degree who has taught at the college-level for at least five years
  • Experience or interest in a faculty development role and/or program leadership
  • Success in collaborative work environments
  • Solid track record of excellence in time management, meeting deadlines 
  •  Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
  • Tenure-track or tenured faculty with experience teaching in the Student Philanthropy program or other high impact courses
  • Terminal degree  
  • Demonstrated excellence in mentoring or collaborating with colleagues to achieve program goals
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fundraising and marketing experience
  • A record of scholarly work (publications, conference presentations) related to the effectiveness, assessment, or implementation of innovative pedagogies 

The faculty fellow will receive a course release or a $3000 stipend each term (Fall, Spring, and Summer), with the possibility of renewal for the 2027-28 academic year. The time commitment is 10 hours/week; the fellow reports to the Director of Immersive Learning and High Impact Practices. Applicants must secure approval from both their department chair and dean prior to appointment.
