August 01, 2025

The national organization of the American Association of University Women has several grants and fellowships it offers university faculty members throughout the nation. The application process opens Aug. 1, and applications are due no later than Sept. 30.

Those who teach at the university level can find information about the grants and fellowships at  https://www.aauw.org/resources/programs/fellowships-grants/current-opportunities/.

Annually AAUW awards more than $6.2 million in grants and fellowships to more than 276 recipients and community projects in 2024. Throughout its more than 125-year history, AAUW has given more than $146 million to more than 14,000 faculty and community projects.

The Muncie Branch of AAUW, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2025, has awarded more than $64,000 in scholarships for nontraditional college students attending Ball State and Ivy Tech Community College since the early 1980s. Proceeds from the Muncie Branch’s annual used book sale that takes place at the end of May each year at the Ball State Alumni Center support the organization’s nontraditional student scholarships and operational costs.

Ball State is an affiliate member of AAUW.
