AAUW Book Sale – Thank you to the Ball State community

June 10, 2021

The members of American Association of University Women would like to thank the Ball State community for supporting the AAUW/Indiana Public Radio Used Book sale at the end of May.

We believe we had more than twice as many books donated for our 2021 sale in comparison to past years. One reason for so many books was the pandemic.

We also had a steady flow of customers – many of whom who not only paid their bill but donated money to benefit AAUW’s nontraditional student scholarship the organization gives each year, as well as the operations of IPR.

Next, we would like to thank Ball State, which AAUW and IPR are affiliated with, for the use of Assembly Hall at the university’s Alumni Center. Book sale volunteers and shoppers appreciated the added space to socially distance and make sure the book sale was in one room instead of multiple rooms.

In addition, we appreciate the two members of Muncie Central High School’s Honor Society who helped us pack up books and want to thank Classroom Connections ECI for picking up the leftover books, as well as the Muncie Mission for working with us.

Finally, we would like to thank Kathie Nix and the staff at the alumni center for their help in facilitating our event.

Our next book sale is scheduled to kick off on Monday, May 31, 2022.
