AAUW needs donations for used book sale

The Muncie Branch of the American Association of University Women, which is affiliated with Ball State’s Office of Community Engagement, will sponsor its used book sale at the end of May as it has done for more than 40 years.

Donations of new and gently used books of all genres, puzzles, DVDs and CDs (music and books) may be taken to the Ball State Alumni Center, starting Monday, May 22, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Carts will be available at the front door of the Ball State Alumni Center so donors can take books to a storage area at the Alumni Center. Donors may temporarily park free at the entrance of the center.

AAUW book organizers ask that no textbooks, damaged books, dictionaries, almanacs or encyclopedia sets be donated.

Hours for the American Association of University Women Used Book Sale will be as follows:

·       10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 27

·       Closed Sunday, May 28, and Memorial Day, May 29

·       10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 30-Friday, June 2

·       10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 3, $5 BAG SALE

Book prices will be reduced on Saturday, June 3. Shoppers will be able to purchase a grocery-sized bag of books for just $5.

During the sale, free parking will be available for attendees in the Ball State Alumni Center parking lot.

The Muncie Branch of AAUW uses the proceeds from the event to support its nontraditional student scholarships. For the 2023-24 school year, the group will award two $1,500 scholarships to Delaware County residents.
