Looking to make connections with other student musicians and vocalists at Ball State?
Us too.
Hey, we’re the Association of Collegiate A Cappella (ACA), Ball State’s student-run a cappella organization. We’re a diverse group of student musicians united by a love for a cappella music. We’re excited to start off another year, and we’re looking for student musicians who are passionate about singing to join us.
Fit the profile? Here’s how you can join:
This semester, we’re offering both in-person and virtual auditions. If you’d like to join us in person, you can find us in AJ 175 on Friday, September 3, from 5-9 p.m., and in Pruis Hall on Saturday, September 4, from 12-4 p.m. Your task: prepare a short, 30-45 second audition that showcases your vocal range and ability. From there, we’ll lead you through some brief questions about your musical background.
Want to skip the face-to-face? Virtual auditions are now open through Thursday, September 2, at 11:59 p.m. Simply follow the link to our Google Form below, answer the accompanying questions, and upload your 30-45 second audition clip.

Looking for a little more info about us? Join us for our virtual callout meeting on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 8 p.m. in AJ 175. You’ll hear from group leaders, learn about our ACA-family, and get a feel for the unique arranging style of each group.
As a member of ACA, you’ll get to connect with other student vocalists and perform together across all types of stages. In 2021, our organization worked with McDonald’s to create a commercial that highlighted their socially distanced dining options. Additionally, most of our groups compete in the International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella (or as we call it, ICCA’s). We’ve had two groups ascend to face the top 10 groups in the world in the finals round: Sedoctave in 2019 and Unexpected Resolution just last year. We even worked together in 2019 to release an EP that’s available on Spotify and Apple Music. (Yes, that is a shameless plug).
We’re ready to usher in another great year of music-making: are you?
Sincerely,
The Association of Collegiate A Cappella
