Every year, Ball State presents awards to select faculty members who have made outstanding contributions to the University community. The award winners are announced at Fall Opening Convocation, held on August 20 this year. The 2021 winners are:

Lawhead Award in General Education: Dr. Matthew R. Hotham, Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies

Excellence in Teaching Award: Ms. Holly L. Dickin, Department of Mathematical Sciences; and Dr. Nilou Assar Lueke, Department of Psychological Science

Outstanding Junior Faculty Award: Dr. Philip J. Smaldino, Department of Biology

Outstanding Administrator Award: Dr. David E. McIntosh, Teachers College

Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award: Dr. Kristin M. Perrone, Department of Counseling Psychology, Social Psychology & Counseling

Outstanding Faculty Service Award: Dr. Kiesha Warren-Gordon, Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology

Outstanding Research Award: Dr. S. Serena Shim, Department of Educational Psychology

Outstanding Creative Endeavor Award: Ms. Susan Koper, Department of Theatre and Dance

Outstanding Teaching Award: Dr. Adam J. Kuban, Department of Journalism

Outstanding Faculty Award: Dr. W. Holmes Finch, Department of Educational Psychology

Outstanding Diversity Advocate Award: Dr. Melinda J. Messineo, Department of Sociology

Rawlings Outstanding Distance Education Teaching Award: Dr. Kesha K. Coker, Department of Marketing
